Evening Sky Tours is pleased to host you for an entertaining evening of astronomy under the canopy of Sedona’s brilliant night sky. We will provide you with an incredible evening of stargazing guided by professional astronomers with decades of experience. We use state of the art equipment including large Dobsonian telescopes as well as high powered binoculars on a mounted tripod. Your tour begins with an overview of the constellations in the night sky led by one of our knowledgeable astronomers using a laser pointer. We then give you an up close view of 15-20 objects through one of our powerful telescopes. Our astronomers are exceptionally knowledgeable and provide you with an educational and entertaining experience. From January - June 2007 we will be observing the following objects or classes of objects:
Saturn and its rings and moons
Galaxies (spiral galaxy M81 and M82)
Star Clusters (Pleides)
Andromeda Galaxy
Double Stars
Comets
Satellite Passes
Space Station Passes
Evening Sky astronomers are the most qualified experts in Arizona and you are assured an entertaining and educational evening of astronomy. Our guides have a combined total of 60 years experience. We limit the number of guests at any given tour to 8 guests to 1 astronomer so that you will be assured a personalized experience.
We will bring the telescope to your hotel or you can meet us at our
dark sky site just a 10 minute ride from West Sedona. Due to lighting issues, some hotel sites are not conducive to astronomy and are not
appropriate for our tour.
Tour Pricing
Our tours last approximately 1 ½ hours.
$60 per person
$20 per child (8-15 years old)
Group discounts for 5 or more people.
Custom Tours pricing available for groups, conventions and special events. We have tours 7 days a week. We will confirm your tour on the reserved date, verify the weather forecast, give you directions to
our site and arrange for payment.
About the Owner:
Clifford Ochser is the President and Founder of Evening Sky Tours. Cliff has a wealth of business experience and served as the Director of Development for the Lowell Observatory in Flagstaff, Arizona. Cliff was instrumental in helping Lowell build the Discovery Channel Telescope a world class research telescope under construction at Happy Jack, Arizona. Cliff is an avid amateur astronomer and has a wealth of experience in customer service and marketing. Cliff has been a resident of Arizona for more than 25 years.
