The Grand Canyon :
$109.00 (plus tax) - Full Day - Picnic Lunch
Our naturalist guides escort our guests to one of the seven natural wonders of the world to discover the forces, which created the Grand Canyon . We view the Painted Desert, the Navajo Indian reservation, the South, East & West Rims of the canyon, Anasazi ruins, the Little Colorado Gorge and much more.
This tour starts with a scenic drive up Oak Creek Canyon then heads north through the San Francisco Volcanic Field en route to the Navajo Indian Reservation. After a short stop at a historic Navajo Trading Post, we enter the park on the east side with stops at several of the best canyon viewpoints, along with a short visit to the ancient Anasazi ruins of Tusayan.
The afternoon is flexible with several options. Our guests can choose to join our guides on a short walk to see fossils of a 230 million year old tropical coral reef. Along the way we take out spotting scopes and binoculars to spot the extremely endangered California Condors that frequent this part of the canyon. Some guests decide not to join us for the "fossil walk" to take a couple hours of time for themselves to either enjoy the shops and exhibits at the Grand Canyon Village or enjoy a one-way 11/2-mile rim walk which we facilitate.
Lunch is served either along the rim of the canyon or at the Anasazi ruins depending on the time. Departs daily from Sedona between 8:00am & 8:30am . Returns 6:30pm .
The Grand Canyon Explorer Grand Canyon, Ancient Wupatki Ruins & Volcanoes Adult:
$129 (plus tax) Child (3-16): $116 (plus tax)
Full-Day Tour - Lunch at the historic Cameron Trading Post - Hotel Pickup Visit the remarkable ruins of Wupatki, where the ancient Sinagua civilization once lived, then mysteriously vanished without a trace. These ancient desert dwellers were the only ones present to witness the dramatic eruption of Sunset Crater Volcano. Between A.D. 1064 and 1180, a series of eruptions brought the San Francisco Volcanic Field back to life. Billowing ash, falling cinders, and forest fires blackened both the landscape and the sky. Learn about the eruption of Sunset Crater a millennium ago as you visit fields of lava that looked like they flowed yesterday.
After a delicious lunch in the historic dining room of the Cameron Trading Post, we venture into the Grand Canyon for an afternoon of exploring one of the seven Natural wonders of the World. This portion of the tour includes stupendous views of East & South Rims of the park, and the time and flexibility to explore on your own in the afternoon.
